Privacy Policy

1. About this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Dream-Theme collects, uses, stores, and shares personal information when you:

  • visit the7.io and its subdomains;
  • purchase or use The7;
  • activate or update a The7 license;
  • use our support services;
  • interact with our hosted services;
  • communicate with us.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with The7, we may process:

Account and contact information
Such as your name, email address, company details, username, and other information you provide to us.

Purchase and license information
Such as purchase identifiers, license keys or license identifiers, subscription status, plan, purchase date, renewal status, activation information, and transaction references.

Website and installation information
The7 installations communicate with our infrastructure for functions such as update checks, license verification, eligibility checks, compatibility information, and administrative notices.

Depending on the request, this may include technical information such as:

  • website/domain or installation identifier;
  • installed The7 version;
  • license or registration status;
  • request IP address;
  • technical information required to provide updates and related services.

The7 installations may also generate administrative notices or emails locally on the website. For example, our infrastructure may instruct an eligible installation to send an update or compatibility notice to its WordPress administrator. The administrator’s email address does not need to be transmitted to Dream-Theme for that local email to be generated.

Support information
Information contained in support tickets, correspondence, screenshots, diagnostic information, website access details you voluntarily provide, and related communications.

Website usage information
Such as IP address, browser and device information, referral source, pages viewed, session information, cookies, and analytics data.

3. Legacy ThemeForest customers

For legacy ThemeForest customers, we may process purchase, license, entitlement, and registration information previously received from Envato or provided by customers in order to:

  • verify existing licenses;
  • preserve existing customer entitlements;
  • provide security and maintenance updates;
  • prevent license abuse;
  • support migration between The7 release tracks;
  • resolve customer and support issues.

We do not use this information to change the underlying terms of an existing ThemeForest license.

4. Freemius and direct purchases

Direct The7 purchases are processed by Freemius.

Freemius acts as Merchant of Record/reseller for transactions and handles payment processing, invoicing, sales taxes/VAT, and related commerce functions. We receive the customer, purchase, subscription, and license information required to provide The7 and manage customer entitlements, but card-payment data is handled through Freemius and its payment providers rather than our own checkout servers.

Freemius also processes certain customer and product data on behalf of software vendors under its data-processing arrangements.

Freemius maintains its own privacy terms governing information it processes in its own capacity.

Some administrative communications may be generated directly by a WordPress website running The7.

We do not sell personal information to advertisers.

8. International transfers

Our service providers and contractors may process personal information in countries other than the country where you live.

Where applicable data-protection law requires safeguards for international transfers, we use appropriate mechanisms such as adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, or other legally recognized safeguards.

9. How long we retain information

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy.

  • essential website operation;
  • user preferences;
  • analytics and performance measurement;
  • security;

Where required by law, non-essential cookies are used only after obtaining the appropriate consent.

12. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights including:

  • access to personal data we hold about you;
  • correction of inaccurate data;
  • deletion;
  • restriction of processing;
  • data portability;
  • objection to processing based on legitimate interests;
  • withdrawal of consent where processing is based on consent.

These rights may be subject to legal limitations.

If you are in the EEA or another jurisdiction providing a supervisory complaint right, you may also lodge a complaint with the relevant data-protection authority.

13. Children

The7 and our websites are intended for professional/general adult use and are not directed at children under 16.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

14. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our products, services, infrastructure, or legal obligations change.

The current version and effective date will always be published on this page.
